KNX home automation in Bangalore, planned before the plaster goes on

KNX is a wired building-control standard: lighting, curtains, climate and sensors all run over one dedicated bus cable, so everyday control doesn't depend on Wi-Fi or an app. It suits villas, new builds and anyone who can plan the wiring before plastering. Homezee Smart Solutions designs, wires and programs KNX with MDT, Moorgen, Ekinex, GVS and Eelectron.

Who KNX suits

  • Villas and independent houses where one system should run lighting, curtains and climate on every floor.
  • New builds and full renovations, while walls are open and the electrical layout is still being drawn.
  • Anyone planning before plaster who wants control that keeps working when the internet doesn't.

If you already live in a finished home and don't want civil work, KNX is usually not the right answer. A Zigbee system works with your existing wiring, and we install that too. Both can live in one home: KNX for the main control, Zigbee for things added later.

Why KNX has to be decided before plastering

KNX is the one smart home decision that changes the electrical layout itself. A bus cable has to reach every keypad and sensor, circuits are wired back to switching modules in the distribution board, and the board has to be sized for them. Zigbee and Wi-Fi work with conventional wiring, so they can wait. KNX can't.

If you're not sure yet, wire so KNX stays possible. Adding a wired system after plastering means breaking walls. We plan the bus routes and the board space with you and your architect at the design stage.

KNX questions

What is KNX home automation?

KNX is a wired, open standard for controlling a building’s lighting, curtains, climate and sensors over one dedicated bus cable. Keypads, sensors and switching modules all talk on that cable, so the system does not depend on Wi-Fi or a cloud app for everyday control.

Is KNX right for my home in Bangalore?

KNX suits villas, new builds and full renovations where the walls are still open and you can plan before plastering. If you already live in a finished home and don’t want to break walls, a Zigbee system is usually the better fit, and we install both.

Why does KNX have to be decided before plastering?

KNX changes how the house is wired: a bus cable has to reach every keypad and sensor, and circuits are wired back to switching modules in the distribution board. Adding that after plastering means breaking walls, so decide with your architect and us before the electrician starts chasing walls.

What is the difference between KNX and Zigbee?

KNX is wired and is planned into the electrical layout, while Zigbee is a wireless mesh that works with conventional wiring and can be added to a finished home. Many homes use both: KNX for the main lighting and curtain control, and Zigbee for devices added later.

Which KNX brands does Homezee Smart Solutions install?

We install KNX from MDT, Moorgen, Ekinex, GVS and Eelectron. For Zigbee homes we install Moorgen Zigbee, Stoic (our own in-house brand) and Control4 Lux.

How does a KNX project start, and what does the site visit cost?

A KNX project starts with a free WhatsApp conversation and then a ₹3,000 automation site visit, which is adjusted against your final invoice. You get a Site Report after the visit, then a documented design and a fixed-price quote before any installation starts.

What warranty comes with a KNX installation?

Every installation comes with a 1-year comprehensive full-system warranty covering hardware, wiring and programming, serviced by our in-house team. We don’t hand support to a third-party call centre.
