Your 3BHK is finished and you want smart switches without breaking walls

Short answer: pick Wi-Fi if you want the lower cost and no separate hub; pick Zigbee if you want the switches on their own local network with a gateway. Both go into a finished 3BHK without chasing walls. Our Wi-Fi series are EI, EX and PX; our Zigbee series are ZXD and ZXC.

Price your 3BHK on the automation planner: it shows all five series side by side.

The trade-offs

  • Wi-Fi (EI, EX, PX): no separate hub, and the lowest entry price. Each switch joins your home Wi-Fi, so router coverage matters in every room.
  • Zigbee (ZXD, ZXC): the panels talk to a Zigbee gateway, so the switches sit on their own local network. The package adds the gateway, which raises the price.
  • Keeping your plates: only EI keeps your existing switch plates. An electrician checks box space, wiring and each load first.

Questions people ask

Should I choose Wi-Fi or Zigbee smart switches for a finished 3BHK?

Both fit a finished home without breaking walls. Wi-Fi (our EI, EX and PX series) needs no separate hub and is the lower-cost route. Zigbee (our ZXD and ZXC series) adds a gateway and keeps the switches on their own local network. The automation planner prices both for a 3BHK so you can compare.

Which of your switch series are Wi-Fi and which are Zigbee?

EI, EX and PX are Wi-Fi. EI uses insert modules behind your existing switch plates. EX and PX are the EX/PX series panels: EX with standard icons, PX with customised icons and RGB backlighting. ZXD (dual-indication blue/white edge) and ZXC (RGB edge) are Zigbee.

Do Zigbee switches need a hub?

Yes. ZXD and ZXC panels work with a Zigbee gateway, and our Zigbee packages include the gateway quantity the catalogue returns. The final gateway count is confirmed after a coverage review.

Can I keep my existing switch plates?

With the EI series, often yes. EI modules sit behind your existing plates. An electrician must first check switch-box space, the available wiring and each load.

How much do the panels cost?

On SmartLoka, incl. 18% GST: EI modules from Rs 3,466 to Rs 5,839, EX panels from Rs 5,880 to Rs 10,272, PX panels from Rs 9,466 to Rs 16,433, ZXD panels from Rs 11,480 to Rs 19,462 and ZXC panels from Rs 12,838 to Rs 22,616.
